The Real Problem

You’re Not Broken. You’re Under-Optimized.

Most men don’t come to us because they “want testosterone”. They come to us because something feels off.

Low energy. Brain fog. Stalled progress in the gym. Decreasing drive. Weight that won’t budge. Poor recovery. Feeling like you’re running at 60% of where you used to be.

They’ve been told it’s stress. Aging. Overwork. “Normal.” We don’t accept that answer.

At Action TRT, we look deeper.

We are not the lowest cost TRT option in Southern California. We are one of the most comprehensive.

For men who value precision, oversight, and results, that distinction matters.

Testosterone Therapy FAQs

How do I know if I have low testosterone?

The most reliable way to assess testosterone levels is through comprehensive blood work that evaluates total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, and related biomarkers. However, symptoms like persistent fatigue, reduced libido, brain fog, mood instability, and loss of muscle mass are common indicators. Many men are told their labs are ‘normal’ based on broad reference ranges — but optimal and normal are not the same. A thorough clinical evaluation correlates your symptoms with your lab values to determine whether intervention is appropriate.

How long does TRT take to work?

Most patients begin noticing improvements in energy, mood, and mental clarity within the first 3–6 weeks. Changes in body composition, libido, and physical performance typically become more apparent over 8–12 weeks. Full optimization — where your protocol is dialed in and your body has adapted — generally occurs over 3–6 months of consistent treatment and monitoring. Results vary based on individual physiology, baseline levels, and adherence to the protocol.

Is TRT covered by insurance?

Action TRT operates as a private, concierge medical practice. We do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide documentation and superbills that patients may submit to their insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Our concierge model allows us to provide the highest level of individualized care without the limitations and constraints of insurance-driven protocols.

Will TRT shut down natural testosterone production?

Yes, exogenous testosterone therapy does suppress the body’s natural production through the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. This is a well-understood physiological response and is managed as part of any responsible TRT protocol. For patients who may wish to discontinue therapy in the future — or who are concerned about fertility — we discuss these considerations upfront and can incorporate supportive therapies such as hCG into the protocol when clinically appropriate.

How often do I need labs?

During the initial optimization phase, we typically evaluate labs at baseline, 6–8 weeks after starting treatment, and then monthly as we refine your protocol. Once your levels are stable and optimized, lab frequency may be adjusted to every 2–3 months. We track 25+ biomarkers over time — not just testosterone — to ensure comprehensive health monitoring including cardiovascular, metabolic, and hematological markers.

Do I need injections?

Injectable testosterone is the most common and clinically effective delivery method for TRT, offering consistent and controllable dosing. However, we evaluate each patient individually and may consider alternative delivery methods based on clinical factors, patient preference, and treatment goals. The method of delivery is always discussed during your initial consultation.
